Community Resources
One Region, Many Communities
The Community Resources Department
provides general administration of three formal committees: Human
and Community Resources, Public Safety, and Homelessness. This
includes development and dissemination of agendas, minutes and
meeting schedules. This also includes facilitating and coordinating
subcommittees and/or task forces as directed by the formal
committees and development and dissemination of agendas, minutes and
meeting schedules for these subgroups of the larger and formal
committee's.
Regional projects originating from
the formal committee's involve local community based organizations.
Keeping informed of new community based agencies and maintaining
good relationships with community partners is key to the project's
success. Community partners also see the value of coordination with
the regional agency representing local government.
The Department also manages the local
air quality plan (Coachella Valley State Implementation Plan or
CVSIP) under the umbrella of the South coast Air Quality Management
District (SCAQMD) which includes management and oversight of federal
and state funded air quality projects.
